PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Since 1983 Jim has practiced law continuously in Foxborough and Mansfield. A member of the Norfolk County Bar Advocates for almost ten years, Jim worked as a public criminal defense attorney in both the District and Superior Courts. He has litigated and tried civil cases in the United States District Court in Boston, as well as in Massachusetts Superior, Probate and District Courts on areas of the law ranging from products liability to constitutional law, negligence, unfair insurance practices, construction, real estate, zoning, business, probate and domestic relations. Jim also conciliates cases for the Brockton District Court and accepts appointments to various fiduciary positions from the Bristol, Norfolk, and Plymouth Probate Courts.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE:
In 1998 Jim was one of the incorporators of Reach The Beach, Inc., a consumer products development company. Reach The Beach owns two US trademarks, two US patents, and two Asian patents on its Wonder Wheeler® all-terrain, collapsible beach and sports utility cart. Manufactured under license to Rio Brands, the Wonder Wheeler® is sold by a wide array of retailers, catalogues, and internet sites. Jim remains actively involved in Reach The Beach as general manager.
FAMILY:
Margaret and Jim Thrasher have been married since 1986. Margaret grew up in Fayetteville, NY, and received her B.S. from Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire. She is employed by the Attleboro Area School to Career Partnership. Jim and Margaret have four children: Stephanie, has completed her first year at St. Michael's College; James, a junior, and Brittany, a sophomore, are at FHS; and Harrison, a sixth grader is at the Ahern Middle School. The Thrashers have lived at 12 Kathryn Road since 1993. Jim’s parents, Don and Geri Thrasher, lifelong residents of Foxborough, live at 62 Leonard Street.
